VILLA FUNDRAISER: Y’all Seriously SHOWED UP! πŸ’šπŸŒ±

by | Apr 15, 2025 | Event Recap

Friends, we’re still buzzing from Monday night’s fundraiser at Villa Italian Restaurant! The place was PACKED to the rafters with Urban Seed supporters! More than 40 tables of wonderful folks came out to enjoy some delicious Italian food while helping our garden grow.

We raised a whopping $500 thanks to your incredible support ($400 from the event and an extra $100 that Tony generously threw in)! As Katie pointed out, that’s half a year of water bills we don’t have to worry about now! πŸ’¦

The Monday night crowd broke records – according to Kat herself, it was one of Villa’s busiest Monday nights in a loooong time! And speaking of our amazing Kat – this whole shindig was HER IDEA and SHE PUT IT ALL TOGETHER while ALSO working behind the bar all night! Talk about a triple threat – organizing the fundraiser, slinging drinks, AND supporting the garden! This woman deserves a garden bed named after her! πŸ‘‘πŸŒ±

What made the night truly magical? The people! We had some first-timers who came specifically to support the garden, including multiple city council members and even the mayor! Bill was especially touched that “peeps that haven’t been there but still just want to support us” showed up in full force. The whole evening was filled with great conversations, amazing vibes, and the beautiful energy of a community rallying around a shared cause.

As Dana (one of our long-term supporters) put it: “Everything was awesome! The restaurant was packed and the food was sooo good!”

We’re genuinely touched by how many of you showed up for us on a Monday night. Some of you even squeezed in visits between work and school board meetings (we see you, Ian!), and others got well-deserved carry-outs after a long day (Lisa and Adam, we feel you on that “old and tired” vibe πŸ˜‚).

This is exactly what community is all about – supporting each other, breaking bread together, and creating something beautiful for everyone to enjoy. The Villa fundraiser wasn’t just about raising money – it was about feeling the full-hearted support of the community which we serve.

Stay tuned for more events coming up as we head into our busiest growing season! (And if you missed Monday but still want to contribute, you can always donate through our website!)

With soil-covered hands and full hearts,
Your garden misfits
