Our mission is to promote community spirit, beautify our community, provide education about gardening, donate food to the community, and support the urban agriculture movement.
Welcome to Urban Seed’s South Warren Community Garden!
Help us build a vibrant oasis in the South side of Warren, Michigan!
Located at 13690 Toepfer Rd., the South Warren Community Garden is ready to create something amazing for the community.

Grow with Us
We’re New Around Here
Founded by Jeff Matheus, Lauren Schandevel, and Zach Carick with a little bit of guidance from Urban Seed.
SWCG is ready to grow some food for the community.
Giving Garden
We are in the process of building out a very special section of the garden.
The community is invited to help us grow fresh produce for those in need.
Connect on Facebook
We might not love everything about Facebook, but we can’t argue that it’s a great way to connect with the community.
Give us a ‘like’ if you want to stay up to date as we get growing!
There’s more to come
We welcome new ideas from the community. What would you like to see at the garden?
Help us shape this vacant lot into something that brings joy to everyone who visits.
Every Great Garden Starts With An Idea
And Warren’s Best Idea Just Got Real

A Sanctuary of Biodiversity
Warren’s newest community garden isn’t just about growing vegetables – it’s about growing connections! We’re creating a vibrant ecosystem where native Michigan plants, pollinator-friendly flowers, and food crops work together in perfect harmony. Think of it as nature’s own neighborhood where bees buzz between the tomatoes and native wildflowers, creating a space that feeds both our community and our local wildlife.

Engage & Learn
Ready to get your hands dirty while learning something new? Our Warren garden is your gateway to discovering the magic of urban agriculture through hands-on workshops, seasonal celebrations, and good old-fashioned community fun. Whether you’re curious about square foot gardening, want to master the art of tomato staking, or just need a peaceful place to connect with neighbors, we’ve got something for everyone.

Unwind & Enjoy
Sometimes the best part of gardening isn’t the growing – it’s the being. Find your perfect spot in our welcoming outdoor space, whether that’s pulling weeds with friends, reading under the shade of our growing trees, or simply soaking in the peaceful vibes while kids explore and learn. The Warren Community Garden is designed to be your neighborhood oasis where stress melts away and community connections bloom naturally. Bring a book, bring a friend, or just bring yourself – we’re here for it all!
