Event: Urban Seed Community Art Show
Location: Urban Seed Community Garden, Eastpointe, MI
ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
I understand and acknowledge that by participating in the Urban Seed Community Art Show, I am voluntarily exposing my artwork and personal property to certain risks, including but not limited to:
- Theft or vandalism of artwork or personal property
- Weather damage from rain, wind, sun, or other outdoor elements
- Accidental damage from event attendees, volunteers, or staff
- Handling damage during setup, display, or breakdown
- Loss or misplacement of artwork or materials
- Fire, flood, or other natural disasters
- Damage from animals, insects, or wildlife
- Structural failure of display materials or surfaces
- Damage from other artists' work or display materials
RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Event, I hereby:
- RELEASE AND DISCHARGE Urban Seed, its board of directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising from or related to any loss, damage, theft, or destruction of my artwork or personal property.
- ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY for any loss or damage to my artwork, regardless of cause, whether due to negligence, weather, theft, or any other reason.
- HOLD HARMLESS Urban Seed from any claims by third parties arising from my participation in the Event or the display of my artwork.
- WAIVE ANY RIGHTS to seek compensation or damages from Urban Seed for any loss, damage, or theft of my artwork or personal property.
INSURANCE AND VALUES
- I understand that Urban Seed carries no insurance covering damage to, loss of, or theft of participating artwork
- I am responsible for obtaining my own insurance coverage if desired
- I participate at my own risk and expense
ADDITIONAL ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
- I understand this is an outdoor community event with inherent risks
- I acknowledge that security cannot be guaranteed for the duration of the event
- I am responsible for pickup of all artwork by the designated time
- Any artwork not retrieved by the deadline becomes the property of Urban Seed
- I grant permission for Urban Seed to photograph my artwork for promotional purposes
INDEMNIFICATION
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Urban Seed from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from my participation in the Event, any injury to persons or damage to property caused by my artwork or display, or any breach of this agreement.
I have read and understand this Release of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement. I understand that by submitting this form, I am giving up substantial legal rights, including the right to sue Urban Seed for damages. I agree to these terms voluntarily and with full knowledge of their significance.
This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. By submitting this form, I acknowledge this constitutes my electronic agreement and has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.
